2019 is drawing to a close and we are looking back on an exciting year which left us feeling richly rewarded. To breed a derby winner is something very special in sport, so Laccario's three-year-old campaign and his victory in the 150. IDEE German Derby were the absolute highlights of the year, which also gifted us with the championships in the ranking of owners and breeders. Nikkei's consistent performances at Stakes level and Enjoy The Moon's strong performances in auction races contributed to a great year as much as did Palao's third place in the 2yo Champion Race, which of course also gives hope for the coming year.
From the perspective of a breeding operation, there were also plenty of opportunities for joyful cheers. The great successes of Holger Renz's third-placed in the German Derby Accon and his sister Amorella (Tink Racing), who completed an outstanding season with a second-place finish in the G1 Preis von Europa, were just as much a reason to celebrate as the extremely good results at auction sales.
Hence, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed to making 2019 a very special year for us, especially the trainers, jockeys and staff at home at the stud and in the racing stables who care for the well-being of our horses on a daily basis and played a decisive role in this successful year.
