Prepared to perfection by trainer Marcel Weiß at his first outing of the year, LORDANO was able to shine like a diamond on Gr.2 level in Cologne today. The five-year-old showed great fighting spirit under Rene Piechulek in the €70,000 Carl Jaspers-Preis over a rather short distance (2,400 m) and ran an asbolutely fantastic race. Parked behind the leaders for most of the way, the brother of Belmont Gold Cup winner LOFT fought like a lion in a breathtaking final battle to win by half a length.
