With a win and a second place, both at Gr.2 level, under his belt, LORDANO entered the starting gate for the €70,000 Großer Hansa-Preis (G2) at Hamburg today and less than three minutes later the five-year-old had galloped to the top of the German statistics. That will of course change again tomorrow due to the 155th German Derby, but at least he tops the stats for one day.
Marcel Weiß' protégé found everything to his liking and once again ran a strong race under Rene Piechulek. After settling midfield, LORDANO jumped clear in the final straight and after 2,400 metres relegated his rivals to the places by one and a half lengths.
LORDANO is the full brother to Gr.2 Belmont Gold Cup winner LOFT and the third product of the Dubawi daughter LABRICE from the family of Lando and Laroche.
