The Gr.3 Dr. Busch Memorial at Krefeld traditionally serves as the first assessment for the Derby crop, hence this year's field was also peppered with top-class hopefuls for the year's classics. Among them also our home-bred SCHWARZER PETER who showed a brilliant run in the €55,000 competition over 1700 metres and finished in a fantastic second place thanks to strong late run. Thereby the colt finished only one neck behind the winner and seemed to have improved again since his second place in last year's Gr.3 Preis des Winterfavoriten, Germany's champion race for two-year-olds.
Sired by Neatico, SCHWARZER PETER is trained by Markus Klug for Uwe Aisch, who purchased the stallion at the 2020 BBAG Yearling Auction.
