2YO colt out of LOYALTY brand hot at Guineas Breeze Up Sale (29.04.2022)

A two-year-old colt, who generated the third highest bid as Lot 143 at the Guineas Breeze Up Sale that ended yesterday in Newmarket, not only made a big impression under the saddle but also made it into Tattersalls News thanks to an interesting story in the background. The colt was on offer at the BBAG Yearling Sale last year. He is by SOLDIER HOLLOW and the second product of our Lando daughter LOYALTY, a sister to German Derby and US St. Leger winner LUCKY SPEED.

Stuart Boman of Blandford Bloodstock had wanted to purchase the colt back then, but he missed the auction due to the fire outbreak at the hotel and the yearling was knocked down to Powerstown Stud instead. Boman's interest remained undiminished, however, and he seized the opportunity presented to him yesterday and bid the horse for 130,000 guineas (approx. €162,000). According to Boman, his new acquisition will be trained by Joseph O'Brien and will begin his racing career in Ireland.
